Eye health is the primary emphasis of Lions Clubs. In support of that mission, our club provides eye glasses and eye exams for hardship cases within our service areas.

Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Known for working to end preventable blindness, Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities.
As such, the State College Lions Club will consider requests that fall within its mission.
We collect eyeglasses for recycling to benefit others in need of eyeglasses.
Our Club operates a mobile food concession van that enables us to prepare an extensive menu of fast foods for various events. Our van is regularly seen at State College High School football games and at Ag Progress Days. Revenues from our food sales are used to support our services activities.
Since food concessions can be an added benefit to public events in our area, we will entertain requests for our van to provide concessions to such events.
Leos Clubs are youth service organizations affiliated with Lions Clubs. The State College Lions Club sponsors a Leos Club at the State College Area High School.
The Sight-Loss Support Group of Central Pennsylvania, Inc.(SLSG) is a non-profit, self-help organization made up of people who are coping with varying degrees of sight-loss. Our goal is to offer a supportive atmosphere where individuals can adjust to loss of sight, learn what resources are available for assistance, and develop strategies to regain independence. Through shared experiences and a positive approach, the Sight-Loss Support Group helps people to answer the question, "What do I do now?"
Our club works closely with this organization.
The Centre Foresight Committee, which is made up of all the Lions Clubs in Region IV gives assistance to the Lions Clubs in Region IV. When a club may have a project that is too large or too expensive for one club, they provide the service needed. The committee also, as most Lions do, collects used eyeglasses. In the 2002-03 Lions year the Centre Foresight Committee collected 5,000 pairs of used eyeglasses and 1,500 used eyeglasses cases. These eyeglasses and eyeglasses cases were processed for shipment to people in Central America.
If you have an issue that is not addressed above, we still may be able to help you.
